I know 64 bit has advantages (in terms of multitasking and so on) over the 32 bit, but will have issues with hardware and software support? Do most of the current hardware/ software on the market support 64 bit systems?

Yes actually. I’d recommend it. I’m using it as I type.

A lot of software has been compatible for 64bit ever since XP.
