What is the Best Computer Software to make your own Marketing Pieces?

Question by MATT Z: What is the Best Computer Software to make your own Marketing Pieces?
I am a realtor, and need to up my marketing in my area. Instead of paying internet companies to make stuff that I can make better myself, I would like a new program, besides publisher, that I can use. I am just interested in what others use and like.
Thanks for the answer, I guess another question I could ask would be;
Being a Realtor, in this market, what would be the best way of obtaining one of these products (legally of course) the cheapest possible way?

I am a graphic designer by profession. The preferred software for the industry is QuarkXpress or Adobe Creative Suite

Microsoft software, such as word and publisher do not transfer well when your pieces go to press and you may have to pay additional charges for the printer to re-create your art.

I have to re-create Publisher files ALL THE TIME.

Check with the place that you will be having the stuff printed at and find out what software they use

What web design software do professionals use?

Is it pretty much just dreamweaver or do people use other (Preferable free) stuff too ?

I’m a pro and I use freeware for the editor although I have all the expensive stuff like Xara Extreme, Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard, Dreamweaver, etc.. I just hand code stuff from my head and make my graphics many times with nothing but getpaint.net, :P . If you KNOW how to do it, you don’t need all the fancy stuff.
