Internet and Web Design Industry

A Central Coast website designer can be found simply by searching for Central Coast Web Designers or Central Coast Websites and choosing a listing from the search engine results.

It seems that everyone is able to design a website nowadays. You could build a website yourself by using a program such as Front Page or another downloaded program. However, if you do so, you could take quite some time to learn the skills necessary to create a website that looks professional and performs well.

Creating a high standard website requires a combination of graphic design, programming skills, management, and marketing. Only these factors together will create a website that is professional. Therefore, it is imperative to have a Central Coast web designer that will be with you from the start until the website is completed. So, how do we distinguish who is a good web designer and who is a bad web designer? There are many vital things to take into our consideration before making such decision. These things are shown as follows:

1.Qualification and Experience

First of all, you should check that the freelance designer or web design business has professional web designer qualifications in the Web Design industry and the internet? For more details you can login to www.instant-video-streamer.com. Are they certified in any particular area of the web design industry? we can check this out by clicking on their “about” page on his/her website. If they have taken the time to gain the qualifications, then we know that they are serious about their business.

We also should check how long the person has or business has been designing websites and working with the internet or web design industry? Have a look at the design style of those websites and other websites that they have designed by going to their portfolio page. This will aid in seeing their style of design and quality of work. Do the colors and text look balanced? Do all the links work, does the site load fast and is it easy to navigate the site? Do all the pages have a consistent look?

2. References

Some web designers have a reference or testimonial listing on their website, this will give you a good idea of the service and the design you can expect. Look through the references of satisfied customers. Testimonials should have the website address listed.

3. Vision/Technology

We should create a basic plan or a project brief of the type of website we want. Do a search and get a rough idea of what we want on our site (not just a copy of someone else’s). Write down your idea on paper, and then contact the web designer about the concept. If you need to use advanced technologies on your site, such as Flash, database integration, Ajax or JavaScript make sure that your web designer is familiar with them and is able to implement them properly.

4. Contact and Consultation

Make sure that the designer is reachable by phone or email. Also, we should see that how long it takes for them to get back to you. This is a good indication of the future relationship with that web designer. Are they helpful, professional, polite and friendly? Having a strong and stable relationship with your designer will help things during the project time line and any other future correspondents.

It is also very important that regular consultation is present throughout the project time line. Most web designers will give you a free consultation if they want your business. This will help you clarify what is expected in the design process.

5. Contract and Pricing

Make sure you have written down a contract before you make any payments. It should state clearly what is included in the contract e.g. how many pages, links? Does it include marketing and maintenance of your website? If not, then ask what cost the extras will entail. This can include domain name registration, scanning and optimization of graphics and hosting.

You should search around the Web to compare prices so as to get a reasonable prices (and quality at the same time!). Do not forget to check on the prices carefully. Do the prices include submitting the site to the main search engines? (This should be done by hand if it is done properly). Don’t be misled by those that say the website will be submitted to 3000 search engines by automatic submission software.

6. Testing and On-going Support

Your website must be tested before it is completed by the designer. Why? Will it look alright in Internet Explorer as well as Netscape browsers? What screen resolutions can it be viewed in? Without testing, your site may not look professional to your customers/viewers. For help visit www.html-lockdown.com. Also, make sure that on-going support will be provided by the web designer. It is just not good enough if you can not contact or reach the designer anymore after the website is complete.

If we follow these vital points shown above, choosing the right web designer can be easy for us. We also can be assured of great design and support that will contribute to the on-going success of your business.

Entity Selection for the Seo Professional

Many consultants and websites selling LLCs advocate that sole providers or small internet companies with a single driving personality form a Limited Liability Corporation. The most cited reason is asset protection.

Asset protection as a reason for an LLC for a single person entity as an explanation presents various dangers of misunderstanding. Many legal theories allow for recovery against individuals for purportedly “corporate” acts. The most commonly known is “piercing the corporate veil”. This is where a court allows an individual to pursue the shareholders personal assets. In studies it has been estimated the veil is pierced in approximately %40 of the time in one shareholder corporations and virtually never in excess of 9. Piercing usually occurs on the basis that the corporation was an “alter ego” of the shareholder or the conduct of the corporation is “unjust or fraudulent”. There are frequently five important factors looked to commingling, undercapitalization, failure to follow formalities, failure to keep separate books, and failure to hold shareholder meetings.

For the sole consultant it can be seen that most if not all of the time these factors will not be met. For your entity to be sufficiently capitalized you would need to pay yourself a regular salary. Indeed, if the only services provided were your own the corporation would be literally be your alter ego. Also if the corporation lacked funding to pay you then you would be misrepresenting the material fact that the corporation intended to perform the contracted services when you signed the contract. This would be fraud and would be a personal act opening yourself up to punitive damages. Indeed, if you thought the corporation would protect you then your responses to requests for correcting deficiencies in contractual performance would be powerful evidence you intended to defraud.

In fact for any tort or criminal act you will always be liable under a basic principle of agency law. “An agent who does an act otherwise a tort is not relieved from liability by the fact he acted on command or account of the principle”. For the small consultant any competent lawyer could probably almost always construe any breach of contract as a tort. If the corporation lacked money to pay the consultant then signing would be fraud, Indian site submitter spammed and ruined reputation then negligence in hiring, leaking of secure information again negligence. That’s without even piercing the corporate veil.

So what is a corporation good for? Well, asset protection is a legitimate use where you are providing a computer program or other packaged good. Then you can argue the rights to the good are a corporate asset. The best practice would be to put into the contract a statement that all parties agree all recourse is to the corporation. Using that language for a service contract however could be evidence of fraudulent intent. The major asset protection argument’s real use is to protect against the negligence of employees or premises liability. (I would always recommend an LLC for a landlord). So a consultant who frequently repackages services would have a stronger reason to need a corporate entity.

The other reason frequently cited is naming. This isn’t the best reason as a D/B/A (doing business as) filing is often better and cheaper.

The downsides to a Corporation are the costs involved and need to comply with regulation. An often hidden downside is the loss of the ability to represent yourself. A corporation almost always will need a lawyer and cannot be represented by a corporate officer. Some state small claims courts will allow it however. So defending your corporation could end up costing you more then the assets in it. Then in some states the procedure is to ask to pierce the corporate veil after a judgement so you be unable to retry the merits of the case.

So what is the best protection for an SEO or internet service provider? A well-drafted contract and good service. Because of the nature of the business with clients all over it becomes very important to include a prominent forum selection clause with a provision that a party suing in the wrong forum will pay the fees necessary to have the case dismissed in the wrong forum. A provision limiting any damages to the amount of the contracted services plus reasonable interest would provide a lot of protection. What should be included varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and I encourage you to consult a lawyer in your own jurisdiction and this article is provided for general information and is not tailored from state to state. SEO and internet marketing services are greatly in demand among legal professionals so most SEO professionals can probably find a local lawyer who will barter SEO services for a well drafted contract.

Finally, this article should not be taken as disparaging the corporate entity, it’s a great tool. Once you find yourself selling the services of others you should absolutely consider a limited liability entity or when the corporation will be selling assets such as software licenses. Just be careful that your corporation always has a realistic present ability and intent to perform a contract on which you are the signing officer.

SEO Exposed

below is some of my early writing on traffic management, its pretty outdated but new stuff is coming

link to content management power software power point presentation How do I use SEO techniques for propper search engine marketing (SEM)

SEO and SEM are two of the catch phrases of the web 2.0 new millennium. You will hear the term thrown around a lot, often because its definition is broad or ambiguous and constantly changing. Basically it means, techniques used to boost your search engine “ranking”,  or where your website appear in search engine results. Also using your ranking and other factors to properly market yourself and increase visibility on the web. Studies show that around 80 percent of Google users do not go past the first ten-fifteen results. This has created an extremely aggressive market for obtaining this top position. Many SEO “experts” have often been given a bad reputation by the unethical use of what is called “black hat” techniques (taken from old westerns where bad guys wore black hats). They try and fool search engines through various methods into ranking them higher. This may have worked years ago to some extent, but currently this almost always hurts your ranking, as Google has been programmed to look for these tricks. This should be avoided altogether. The best idea is to stay up-to-date on what the “best practice” is for SEO, and stick to these guidelines. This is often called organic growth, because it is similar to watering a plant. Slowly and surely your work will pay off, but it will not work overnight. Any company that claims to be able to do this instantly is a fraud! Google warns against this, but many people get tempted by the allure of quick results. This never works and these people stole your money. As with everything on the internet and the business world itself, one must use discretion as to how to market and who to work with. The two most important practices of SEO follow.

Quality Written Content

Google as well as most respected SEO agencies agree that QUALITY CONTENT, is the number one way to boost your site. This means lots of relevant, original TEXT as well as rich media. Most importantly, lots of written quality TEXT. Relevant and original text is the most effective for boosting your ranking. Quality content is like food for search engines, they gobble it up when they see it, displaying you in their search results. Often an experienced SEO who also has talent in writing can help provide this content. It is good to keep in mind many things when writing this material. In addition to relevancy, the KEYWORDS and KEY PHRASES that the text will be centered on and keyword density is also important, though a mistake is made when this becomes the focus of the article. This begins to detract from the quality of the content. Usually if one is writing quality content that is focused on the subject, it will naturally have an acceptable keyword density. Google uses extremely advanced mathematical algorithms to look for this kind of content. They keep the heart of these mathematical expressions top secret, though much of it is revealed to the public. There are also many other white hat approaches to working with text including, using bold, italics, the use of heading or h1 tags and other titles. An experienced SEO will know all of this. Again, it is wise to only use the most current and ethical best practices for search engine optimization as this has proved to the be the most effective. There is no substitute for hard work to create a rich and deep site, with quality, relevant well written content.

Links, and Link Building

Another Central SEO theme is the use of linking and Link Building. Generally speaking Google and Yahooconsiders a link from one site to another as a vote from site A to B, though Search Engines do more then tally up all the votes for one specific site, they analyze the quality of the site the inbound link is coming from, its relevancy to the subject and so many more factors kepy top secret in Silicon Valley. Search engine robots often find sites by “crawling” from site to site using links as the web that connects sites together. Inbound links are considered to be the best for your search engine ranking, as they are viewed by search engines as a “vote” from that site for yours. Many factors come into play as to the “importance” of this vote, including whether this link is reciprocated (viewed as link exchange, still very good but not as good), as well as if the site is a good or “bad neighborhood” , if this site is a very low ranking site, spam site or link farm this will not mean much. Another thing to consider when reaching for inbound links is whether or not the linking web page is relevant to your site. If you have a site about computer chips and a gardening site is linking to you, it will not carry as much weight.
Now that we have inbound links covered, link exchange and outbound links are also worth mention. Link exchange can be implemented by sending out emails to other webmasters requesting link exchange, “I’ll link to you if you link to me” type of deal. You will be surprised how often this is successful, boosting both site’s ranking in the process. Another way to encourage this is by setting up a link exchange partnership program on your website where people can come to you with proposals, this can also be automated with the use of JavaScript. Simply having a large database of relevant links, to “important sites” will be good food for search engine spiders, as they view your site as a valuable resource or directory in which people can find good information.. When doing this, a good idea is to not make this page extremely visible or flashy on the site so people don’t go directly to it and leave your site. Another good idea is to have any outbound links on your site open in a new window.
That’s it for now folks, I use many tools in SEO in addition to morals, quality writing skills, and in-depth knowledge. I also use the Fire Fox add-on SEO Quake, Web CEO, and Google Analytics. These are basically the industry standard of SEO tools and most anything outside of that is not only extraneous but dubious. Pat yourself on the back for reading this through to the end, I tried to make it concise and dense with valuable information. There is still much left uncovered, and this section will be constantly evolving as the internet constantly involves as well.

Here is Googles advice on choosing and SEO

Talk to many SEOs, and ask other SEOs if they’d recommend the firm you’re considering.
References are a good start, but they don’t tell the whole story. You should ask how long a company has been in business and how many full time individuals it employs. If you feel pressured or uneasy, go with your gut feeling and play it safe: hold off until you find a firm that you can trust. Ask your SEO firm if it reports every spam abuse that it finds to Google using our spam complaint form at http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html. Ethical SEO firms report deceptive sites that violate Google’s spam guidelines.
Make sure you’re protected legally.
For your own safety, you should insist on a full and unconditional money-back guarantee. Don’t be afraid to request a refund if you’re unsatisfied for any reason, or if your SEO’s actions cause your domain to be removed from a search engine’s index. Make sure you have a contract in writing that includes pricing. The contract should also require the SEO to stay within the guidelines recommended by each search engine for site inclusion.
What are the most common abuses a website owner is likely to encounter?
One common scam is the creation of “shadow” domains that funnel users to a site by using deceptive redirects. These shadow domains often will be owned by the SEO who claims to be working on a client’s behalf. However, if the relationship sours, the SEO may point the domain to a different site, or even to a competitor’s domain. If that happens, the client has paid to develop a competing site owned entirely by the SEO.
Another illicit practice is to place “doorway” pages loaded with keywords on the client’s site somewhere. The SEO promises this will make the page more relevant for more queries. This is inherently false since individual pages are rarely relevant for a wide range of keywords. More insidious, however, is that these doorway pages often contain hidden links to the SEO’s other clients as well. Such doorway pages drain away the link popularity of a site and route it to the SEO and its other clients, which may include sites with unsavory or illegal content.
What are some other things to look out for?
There are a few warning signs that you may be dealing with a rogue SEO. It’s far from a comprehensive list, so if you have any doubts, you should trust your instincts. By all means, feel free to walk away if the SEO:
owns shadow domains
puts links to their other clients on doorway pages
offers to sell keywords in the address bar
doesn’t distinguish between actual search results and ads that appear in search results
guarantees ranking, but only on obscure, long keyword phrases you would get anyway
operates with multiple aliases or falsified WHOIS info
gets traffic from “fake” search engines, spyware, or scumware
has had domains removed from Google’s index or is not itself listed in Google
If you feel that you were deceived by an SEO in some way, you may want to report it.

Design Website With Web Page Templates!

In the never-ending journey of information and communication technology, internet continues to be the most rewarding boon for people all around the world. Internet is now the best media for disseminating information, promoting business, establish and maintain communication and do a host of other things that other media can not do. In the cyber world, websites and web pages are the primary media by which we interact with internet. Creating attractive websites by a decent yet effective website design or more specifically, webpage design is very important to attain the site’s objectives. Today, creating an attractive and interactive website is no more confined to the domain of professionals and computer geniuses. There are thousands of ready-to-go web page templates for creating a good website. Initially the templates were mostly based on Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML). With the advent of newer web technologies, there are different types of templates today. Dynamic HTML (DHTML) templates, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) templates, JavaScript templates, Flash web site templates, Macromedia Dreamweaver templates are some of the most familiar ones to mention. For more information simply visit www.great-links-toyour-website.com. There are hundreds of web sites that offer free templates which are fully functional. But most of the professional web site templates usually come with a price.

Web page design or web site design is a very important step in creating a successful and attractive website. It is the web page design and interface that draws the attention of the internet users and thus increases the traffic to a particular web site. The next important point is the functionality of the site. Website designing should be such that visitors can effectively interact with the features provided in the different web pages of the website. Keeping these two important factors in mind, web page templates are created by professional programmers or web designers.

With the increasing use of internet in all spheres of our life, especially in trade and commerce, website designing has become more important. To suit the requirements of web based activities, newer applications and software have been invented. With the help of these applications or software, scripts are written and incorporated in the web page templates. Today’s websites have stunning web pages with extremely appealing interfaces. The web pages include text, graphics, animation, sound, movies, forms, polls, hit counters and many other features. Macromedia (now owned by Adobe) brought out the legendary and highly popular file format ‘Flash’ that can play animations, movies, sounds, slideshows or other types of contents in web pages. Due to very attractive look, design and diversity of Flash files (with extensions .swf, .fla etc), Macromedia Dreamweaver – a web developing software – soon became extremely popular. Dreamweaver is basically used for web related publications. Today in the internet, Flash website templates are already available in abundance. Besides Macromedia’s software suit, Flash files and Flash web site templates are prepared by many third party software and applications. Macromedia Dreamweaver though remains to be the best software that integrates Flash files besides other type of templates like, HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, JavaScript, XML etc. Dreamweaver templates are truly professional templates. Many of the internet’s top website designs are based on Dreamweaver templates. For more help go to www.automatic-content.com. There are many fully functional free Dreamweaver templates available for download. These free templates they may lack in customizing abilities. On the other hand professional web page templates made of Dreamweaver’s diverse features are generally very charming and they make your website look great. These professional Dreamweaver web page templates may be attached with a small price tag. But their quality looks, attractive features and customizability make them templates worth paying for.
