I’m a recent graduate. It’s a tough job market right now. I was offered a job for a company who sells merchant services, basically the hardware software and service to accept credit cards for businesses. They say it’s a career sales job but it’s a call center environment and the base is only 25k.I have a feeling this may be one of those companies that burn and turn their employees and kind of prey on new grads. This isn’t exactly what I was looking for but am open to it if there’s decent commissions to make and if its a good business to be in. Have you worked in this industry? What do you think?

Hi, I work for a registered ISO/MSP for Visa and MasterCard (six years now) who operates in this manner so I know what you’re in for.
You definitely can make good money doing this if the commission structure is good and they make sure the phone keeps ringing. The fact that they give you a base salary is good as you are at least guaranteed some kind of income. Your only real challenge then is to make sure you close the deals.
My advice to you is to keep it simple. Since they are doing all of the advertising for you you can play off of it (basically just re-explain/reiterate the offer) and not have to worry about having a complex sales technique. Definitely keep it simple. The more you explain to a merchant the more confused they will be. If they ask you questions, answer them. But don’t try to teach them about merchant accounts. You’ll lose them every time.
Basically keep it simple, and be consistent. If you do you will be successful and make good money. I did.

Just a Business Plan only, not the Marketing. I construct professional-grade business plans & marketing plans that really are the cream of the crop. I have expertise and $ 5,000 worth of software and an established list of contacts, and offer support on demand. Recently, because of client growth, I have hired others to form teams to complete project goals, but I want to pay them a yearly salary above 50,000. What do you think is the lowest rate I should offer for a level 1 plan. All of you in my eyes are potential clients and I want to make it as affordable for you as possible and still give my employee well deserved checks. SO WHAT WOULD YOU SPEND ON A PROFESSIONAL-GRADE BUSINESS PLAN?

The best would be a professional program like DAW (Digital Audio Workshop) or Adobe Audition or something like that. But those programs are expensive and take some time to learn to use. There are a lot of cheaper programs that will do just fine for recording and editing.
There’s a freeware one called Audacity that’s pretty good. You can get it at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Scenario:
Abc corporation is a typical modern organization furnished with several of the latest desktop computers with Microsoft Office 2003 software installed in each one of them. Nertworking is still in the planning stage since at the moment there seems to be inadequate resources to finance such an undertaking. Each department has certain information requirements which are generated by the other departments. For example, when Marketing needs the monthly receivables report from Accounting it has to ask for a printout and/or softcopy of the Excel file. The information is either re-typed or copied and pasted from the workbook to the PowerPoint file for presentation to the board of directors. This is a waste of time and resources so a programmed solution is essential to achieve maximum work productivity with the available limitations.
