There is No One Right Way in SEO

The term SEO, or search engine optimization, is still an unknown to virtually everyone who doesn’t work in that field.  Most people have never even heard of the term nor know what it refers to.  But the more interesting part is that even within the SEO industry, not everyone agrees on how best to approach the problems SEO sets out to solve.

There are of course the basic guidelines: lots of content on site, properly formed meta tags, get inbound links, give outbound links appropriately, and strong site organization.  But the reason SEO continues to be more of an art than a scientific method is because there is no one way to accomplish these things. Exactly how much content does a site need, and how many times does a keyword need to be on a page? How many inbound links do I need and how do I get them? Are paid links ok? Are comment links ok? What makes a good title tag? A good h1 tag? Am I doing anything else wrong that will hurt my rankings?

Most professional SEO providers will provide their client a level of detailed in-depth report similar to one another.  But that’s where much of the similarity ends.  While most will not have any outright conflicting advise, their content and their approach will be different.  If you polled 10 providers for reports, you’d likely get 10 different versions.

This makes the industry exciting for the SEO organizations. It makes performing SEO well a challenge, not just a standard checklist that you can use. No magical software to plug the site into and get all the right answers.  Every site is different. Every day at work is different. And not to mention the suspense of not knowing immediately if it is working. An SEO provider gets no grade except improved rankings and traffic for the client, which take time to build and fluctuate daily.

The mystery of SEO also makes it hard on a layman though.  It is nearly impossible to perform truly stellar SEO work to your own site, because the finesse it requires only comes with volumes of clients under your belt. Further it makes it harder for a layman to choose an SEO provider, and to know if the changes his SEO wants him to do are right answers.  It requires a leap of faith and at least a basic understanding of SEO to dive into it.

No, it was absolutley not right for your friends to do such a thing, but as previous answeres have said, people can be dumb in the middle school/high school years. You will just have to learn how to ignore stupid topics such as that, and it’s just a part of life that every teen/tween goes through. Good luck with your situation! :D

No they have no right! They sound like very immature people, they don’t look like trustworthy friends….be careful what you tell them. Next time you like a guy, you might want to keep that a secret…xD

    Good luck.

    No! That’s horrible!
It would ONLY be acceptable is you had told her to tell him you like him. And even then, it wouldn’t be right for her to promise him $4 from you. That’s like paying him to go out with you…
You need to talk to your friend about this.

    YOU CHANGED UR NAME!!!!!! LOL

ok, do you think its right? would you do something like that to your friends? the answer to both questions is no.

but, keep in mind, that you said they are your friends, if they are, chances are that they meant that in a harmless, joking way. just tell them not to do that (lol, and jokingly threaten to do the same thing to them, but with the kid no one likes @ school). don’t make a big deal and dont show any signs of being upset, they should listen to you

if they really arent ur friends tell them to stop it, dont say "stop it!" , but u no what i mean, bring it up, firmly and demandingly. you need to demand their respect. then, just ignore it, things pass and people forget.
